So sorry I haven't blogged for a while. So I will BLESS you all with 2 in one day! JOY!!!!!!
Breezy's puppies grew up and left home! Oh, I miss the little snuggle bugs! 2 went to Houston, 1 to Dallas (he will have a second home in New Zealand!!), 1 to Erie, CO.(will be a show dog hopefully), 1 to Loveland, CO (she will be a show dog), 1 to Steamboat Springs, CO. 1 to Ft. Collins, CO (to be a show dog) and my sweet O.R.E.O. is with my brother Grant and his family in Parker, CO and will beat everyone in the ring!! HA HA!!
Kitsi has 3 boys born when Breezy's pups were 7 wks old. They are big boys and love their stuffed lamb! They look lost in their 8 foot pen Ken built me. They are super sweet and learning more every day.
I am thankful I didn't have Breezy's puppies here last night too with the tornado warnings! O M Gosh! That would've been a nightmare trying to keep 8 puppies in one place for 3 1/2 hrs.
It has been a busy spring here in the puppy world. Will be fun to see 4 of Breezy's puppies in the ring together!
Champion Koda is very proud of Kitsi's puppies he sired. Strange thing-he wouldn't get within 8 feet of Breezy's puppies but with his he wants to sniff them out nose to nose. Proud papa!!
Tibetan Terriers are my love and life. Love breeding and having show dog hopeful puppies. Nothing makes me happier than to see the happiness they give their new families. Every day is a wonder. A circus to some, an amusement to others. Always some excitement at our house! Not a day goes by that I am not amused in the world of dogs.

Dogs in the bathroom hiding from tornados
There is nothing quite like the excitement and horrible stress of a tornado warning. Add to it trying to cram 1 Golden Retriever and 5 Tibetan Terriers, a Yorkie and 3 puppies only 3 weeks old into a half bathroom under the stairs! Not just for 1 hour but for 3 and a half!
So at first I crammed Kitsi and her 3 puppies into a small cage and put them under the stairs. I then went outside to DRAG the 78 lb Golden Retriever mix-Bear-into the house against his stubborn, bull headed will. He is terrified of storms so always runs into the "Bachelor Pad" at the first crack of thunder or smell of up coming rain. Dragging him into the house with my bad back is no easy chore! The el haltose at the door and trying to lift him into the house and sliding across the tile kitchen floor. Okay that was my work out for the day. Next came the 4 Tibetans and the Yorkie. Threw their collars onto the sink and went to get their leashes in the garage. Luckily I had made room under the stairs for a cage the night before and also hung their collars-labeled so they could be grabbed in a hurry. Did this on Sunday after everyone had prayed for rain at church. Be careful what you pray for!
Ken, of course was out of town. I ran back and forth between t.v., weather radio, regular radio and the computer checking out the radar.
Also delivering water to the dogs and listening to Kitsi whining under the stairs.
Oh, I forgot about the excitement from the cats!! I threw the MEAN old girl, Shadow, in the hall closet. Mind you the cats HHHAAATTTTEEEE each other and won't get within 5 ft of each other. Then I was off to find the normally sweet, laid back Bugs. He is a Ragdoll and normally acts like one when you pick him up. Not today! He knew something was going on, and yelled at me and tried to claw me. Finally snatched him up and threw him in the closet. As soon as I opened the door, Shadow got the speed of a youngster and darted out the door. In the meantime Ken called and I told him I had to go find Shadow again. I guess you have to experience MMMEEAANNN Shadow (though she has mellowed at the age of 15!) to appreciate what Ken said. He said "Let Shadow GO". No huge loss I guess if we had to sacrifice her. She is so mean that no tornado could even kill her. Think she will live forever! I finally found her and threw her in the closet and slammed the door. All kinds of hissing and screaming went on for a few seconds and then it was quiet. They had pillows they could climb or hide underneath.
So here I was sitting in the bathroom-ROASTING HOT-listening to Kitsi whine and thinking about how much $ the dogs under the stairs are worth and a tornado would probably suck them out! I dared to leave the bathroom, took Kitsi to the bathroom, with the other 4 TTs, 1 dorkie Yorkie, stubborn old Bear, my purse, now the computer that doesn't work in a storm-thank you wireless satellite!, leashes, a bowl of water, pillows so the room was full. Couldn't leave the puppies alone so took the Yorkie cage, crammed it by the toilet and put the 3 tt puppies in it. Now that room was full! Our Champion Stud dog-Koda was sitting up against the door. Guess he thumped it with his rear and turned around and had a barking fit! Little gun shy Koda??
So I am listening to the Noah weather radio, switching between that and our wonderful local station. In the 3 1/2 hrs tornado warnings kept renewing. The hail was golf ball size and the wind was horrible. All the time running in and out and looking outside, checking the t.v. and calling Ken or Ken calling, texting people and sending pictures of the dogs all crammed into the tiny bathroom.
The hail finally stopped so I went to look at the clouds. The coolness of the wind and the wet grass was so nice. The frogs were so happy at the pond. Then I looked up in the sky and the clouds were ominous! They were circling right above our house! I went back to my safe room with stinky, panting, hot dogs and listened to our local radio station which was reporting rotation over our house and near by. Noah was reporting "tornadoes will be in Fairfield at.....I-45 between mile marker....."which was us! Not the storm will be in Fairfield at....but the TORNADO will be in Fairfield at.....!!!!!!!!
I figured if I heard a train, then I would duck under the pillows crammed in the corner of the room. Sometimes during storms, the quiet is more terrifying than the wind and rain!
Finally at 9:20pm, I opened the door to the bathroom, cleaned up June Bugs accident that she was so embarrassed about, and tried to get us all calmed down.
It was an experience. After living here for 11 yrs, we have never experienced that closeness to a possible tornado. I know I am supposed to be the calm, pack leader but last night was pretty stressful and I was scared to death!
The cats came out of the closet in one piece. Only thing they did was knock some videos off the shelf.
I am a true believer in praying in specifics! I told a friend "we prayed for rain but should have specified-NO TORNADOES or HAIL, Please!!" We did get over 2 inches of rain to help with our draught.
Expecting same stuff today in the weather but now I am prepared!
Funny thing is-I HATE to pay a high electric bill. Ask my kids. We melt in the summer and freeze in the winter. Last night I kept cranking the air! That bathroom was so hot with hot panting dogs! Nothing quite like it! The smell of ODE TO DOG!
Hope we don't have a replay of it today!!

2 week old Tibetan Terrier puppies!
There is nothing sweeter in the whole world than a newborn. In my world it is the newborn puppy! I could hold and kiss each one over and over and never get enough of the newborn puppy smell and feel. To have them curl up in your hand and totally trust your hold on them.
After a couple of days, Breezy was catching on to new motherhood. She knew they were her puppies and learned to trust that no one and no other dog would take them away from her. The commitment of a new mom is unbelievable! She will totally neglect her own needs for the sake of her young. She was fed in bed-so to speak-6 times a day plus even more frequent drinks of goats milk and water. She would not leave the puppies even to go to the bathroom, but had to be made to leave them for that quick trip outside. Panting under a heat lamp. Seems oblivious of the fact she could lay outside of the "pool" to cool off and still hear the puppies and see that they are fine. Totally unselfish.
The puppies are 2 weeks old tomorrow. 4 have their eyes open. Oh-the first sights and usually at about the same time, the first sounds. Looking into their tiny eyes, I wonder just all they can really see. Do they think "oh, that's what that squeaky voice looks like.." So much to do and learn on their way to adulthood. To me, with the eyes opening marks the time where there is more to do! More things to teach them and socializing to do. All in order to make each puppy the best they can possibly be. No pressure there! Each puppy is a tiny miracle. All are meant to be loved and to give unconditional love.

Puppies!!
Well, Champion Breezy had her puppies yesterday. Delivered 8 puppies in 4 hours. Such a good girl and did great! 5 boys and 3 girls in all different colors. She is a first time mom so she had the typical learning curve of most new moms. So frustrating to me after having done this so many times. The first puppy she just wanted to bury with a towel and forget about it. Then nature took over and she figured it all out. Now she feeds and cleans them like God intended. Only problem was she wouldn't lay down to feed them. Slim pick ens in the milk sources with only 9 and 8 puppies! I told her-you have GOT TO STRETCH OUT!!! She just wanted to hide them. They are all growing and getting stronger. Sweet little things! There is nothing better than a newborn of any kind.
All the other dogs went nuts when they heard the first whimpers of the first puppy. If the gate would've been lower into the sun room, I would've had the help of 5 other Tibetans and 1 Yorkie. They have all been begging to see the puppies. I did let Kitsi look at them this morning. She is such a good mom but she had a huge learning curve with her first litter. Oh my gosh! She is so hard headed and NO ONE is going to tell her how to do anything! Now she is the best mom.
It is so cold outside and snowed a little. The sun room is not sunny today and is also not heated so our challenge has been trying to keep the room at 80 degrees. Well, at least in the puppy's bed anyway. Dread seeing my electric bill!!!
Nights are pretty well sleepless. Every scream from a puppy, I am up to see what is going on. Never anything really and usually has stopped before I get there. Just like a new mother, sleep is so deprived. Then that leads to a crabby mom! This too shall pass!???? How quickly we forget the pain of child birth and so too the "pain" of birthing puppies. Forget the sore knees, aching back, no sleep, little food, and the worry and stress over raising the most perfect puppies ever!
However-I wouldn't trade it for the world!!

Snow Days In Texas
Well, who would've thought that here in Texas we would be dealing with snow and ice?? Plus rolling black outs because of horrible cold temperatures in a state where it is supposed to be warmer than most.
We got over 2 inches of snow-shear delight to the Tibetans. Yorkie-not so much. Poor little thing had her coat on but she needed boots and leg warmers! She ran out and did her business and then ran inside and curled up on a blanket. The Tibetans were very much in their element and rolled, ran and played in the white stuff. Not actually being "fair" with 3 of them being from Colorado and live with snow much of the winter. To the Texas Tibetans it is a rare happening. Funny how they take to it like ducks to water.
The snow melted yesterday but might have a chance for some more in a couple of days.
Breezy is due to have puppies any day now. Looking fat, miserable and so ready to be a mom! Hopefully will be a pleasant event and not have any mishaps. We will have puppies to hold and give kisses to soon! The wonder of it all!! I am always so amazed how God creates even the smallest of these...I am anxious to see what God has created!!!

Zanne's Tibetans
Why is it that when the weather is 18 degrees out here in Texas, the dogs would rather be outside than in? Running in and out the doggy door and all my brain does is think of how high the electric bill is going to be.
Then the normally "outside" dog-Bear-wants inside! Even though his "Bachelor Pad" is heated.
My house is a circus right now-literally-with Breezy's puppies due in a few days, 2 girls recently in heat, Koda hoping to have a hot date and Bear wishing he could! Bear has been neutered for 11 years and still wants to have a one time with a female. Poor boy! Guess maybe they never lose that instinct.
So we have Koda with June Bug on his tail and Kitsi on June Bugs tail and Bear trying to get in there somewhere.
Things are calming down after last week. Breezy is so pregnant and pathetic looking!
A little more about Tibetans-they are the "good luck dogs" of Tibet. Hmmmm..??? I am still waiting!!! They lived with the Monks and were given to passerbyers to guide them down the mountains. I have been reminded by prospective families that they were never sold. Too funny! They have snowshoe feet to walk in the snow, double coat insulates them from heat and cold and hair over their eyes to keep from going snow blind. What all of this is worth in Texas, I haven't a clue! I do know that when it is in the 90's, the girls will lay on the deck in the blazing sun. It is so hot I can't even walk on it barefoot. They are one of the most closely related to Wolves and one of the most ancient breeds. They also come in all colors and markings. Many prospective owners want to order their certain color but anything can pop up. They are usually pretty laid back and easy going. They love people and need to be an inside dog. They are people pleasers and also usually pick their owners.
One funny story-Molly came down to pick her puppy, yrs ago. She wanted a golden brindle (Lightening). Usually Lightening was happy, playful and thought he was so special! When Molly came to our house she tried and tried to be friends with Lightening but he hid under the table and wouldn't have a thing to do with her. On the other hand there was his black with white brother Thunder. Thunder usually spent his time off to himself. Big laid back lug! That day he took on a different personality. He was playful, friendly and trying to make friends with Molly. Needless to say-Thunder picked Molly and that is where he is today.
Another day in the life of Zanne's Tibetans!

Welcome to Zanne's Tibetans!
Tibetan Terriers are my life, my joy and my passion. Nothing makes me happier than to see the happiness our Tibetans add to a new family.
Most people have not seen or experienced the Tibetan Terrier. I was raised with them with my family getting one of the first in the USA in 1965. Our Mo Mo was our wonderful girl who did well in the show ring, produced one litter of which one male went to be a foundation male. Many successful Tibetans have come from our Mo Mo.
After getting married and having 3 children, my heart started wanting another Mo Mo. After much begging and many tears, my husband gave in to getting a little hairy creature name Annie. She was the first of our scruffy Tibetans. She is now 11 1/2 years old. 3 litters and a few Tibetans later, she is still our first love in Tibetans.
The kids are grown-the human ones, that is. The house still has furry little kids that never seem to grow up.
Every day there is something amusing going on in our home. Seems I always have a story to tell about something so I thought this would be a wonderful way to make people smile.
Enjoy!
